In World of Tanks, it is possible to record a replay of any battle in order to save it for later viewing. You can also create a video based on it and post it on WoTReplays or YouTube for everyone to see and appreciate. To do this, you will need to take a few simple steps, which will be discussed in this article.

Why do you need to convert replays?

A replay in WoT is a file with the extension . wotreplay. It is not a video file and you cannot send it directly to YouTube. Programs for direct conversionwotreplay does not exist in video, so all you can do is record the replay directly from the screen. After that, you can upload it to YouTube or any other video hosting site convenient for you.

How to view replays?

To watch wotreplay you do not need to download any additional programs or players. This file can be opened using the World of Tanks client itself, after which the game itself will launch your replay.

In addition, not long ago a very convenient mod appeared called MoD Replays Manager, which makes it easy to save and run replays directly from the hangar without closing the client. This mod is included in various modpacks, for example, and of course, it can be found on our website.

How can I convert wotreplay to video format?

To turn wotreplay into a video, you will first have to launch the desired file using the game client or the appropriate mod, and then record the replay from the screen using video capture programs. There are a lot of such programs, but here are the most common ones:

  • Fraps is a very easy-to-learn program, but it has several disadvantages:
    • It is conditionally free, that is, you need to either buy it or look for a crack, and in the trial version it only records thirty-second videos;
    • Does not compress recorded videos, which is why they have enormous weight; In addition, the video size is limited to 4 gigabytes, so later your videos will have to be combined;
    • Significantly reduces FPS during capture.

However, the process of recording video using Fraps is very simple, and if you are ready to tinker with compression and merging of the resulting videos, then you need to take a couple of simple steps to record: start a replay, start and stop recording using the corresponding button (F9 by default ).

All videos will be saved in the C:\Fraps\Movies folder.

  • Bandicam is also an easy-to-use program that, unlike Fraps, immediately records video files converted to XviD AVI or MP4, which is undoubtedly very convenient. It also has a wide range of settings for the final video file:

If you intend to post the replay on YouTube, it is recommended to use the XviD codec, as it will be processed faster during upload. The recording process itself is no different from Fraps - you just need to launch the replay and start capturing video.

Videos will be saved by default in the folder C:\Users\Username\Documents\Bandicam.

In addition to the above video capture programs, there are many others, but these two are most suitable for the average user, since they are easy to use and do not require special knowledge.

Once you finish recording, you can easily post your replay on YouTube, where other users will certainly appreciate it.

You can learn more about how to convert WOT replays into videos from this useful video:

Best Replays of the Week - a weekly program with Kirill Oreshkin as the host, where gold is awarded to the most epic and challenging fights sent by players.

  • - The Great Belarusian Random is an analogue of the OSR, where users are rewarded with gold for the battles sent, but the main difference between this program is the battles accepted there - unusual jumps, falls, bugs and other non-standard moments. Recently, it has not been voiced by Oreshkin and is published in the “No comments” format.
  • Do you consider your successful fight to be a bend worthy of getting hit in wot? Do not rush!

    How replays are selected

    The Wargaming video department selects many replays sent to wotreplays for lrn and vbr, but 99%, according to Oreshkin himself, do not meet the requirements, or simply do not reach the title of the best.

    In order to get into the LRN in world of tanks, you need to decide on the nominations:

    • Warm-up - a short episode with incredible luck, skill or a funny incident.
    • Warrior - awarded for the largest number of frags among the replays sent by the time the issue was created. If the number of frags matches, the skill level is taken into account.
    • Defender - awarded for a masterful game built on protecting one's own or neutral base. The capture can be lost repeatedly and from many tanks. Of particular advantage are replays where a successful capture of a base by the enemy could lead to defeat.
    • Invader - awarded for a beautiful, funny or skillfully executed capture of an enemy base. Replays where victory would be impossible without capturing the base receive special benefits.
    • Sniper - awarded for the most beautiful, accurate shot or series of shots. It is especially appreciated if the shot helped you get out of a difficult situation and the team achieve victory.
    • Support - issued for a victorious battle carried out by the player at the bottom of the list (the level of the combat vehicle is the minimum acceptable for this level of battles), and the player’s actions actually brought victory to the team.
    • Steel Wall - awarded to a player who used the advantage of his armor during the battle and thanks to this earned victory. The correct use of the terrain and placing the tank at the correct angle to the enemy counts. A large number of potential damage received will help to receive an award, but is not required for nomination.
    • Scout - awarded for the miracles of camouflage and detection, thanks to which your team was able to gain an advantage. What counts is choosing good positions, counteracting enemy light, and the ability to survive until the end of the battle.
    • Brothers in Arms - issued to a platoon of players who, with their competent play, led the team to victory. When choosing from several replays, the number of frags per platoon is taken into account, as well as the level of equipment at which the battle took place.
    • Armored Fist - awarded to a team of players that wins the “Team Battle” mode thanks to unusual tactics and/or the skill of individual fighters, while initially being in an “uncomfortable” situation.
    • Clan Wars - awarded to participants in battles in the "Clan Wars" mode for interesting and unusual tactics that led their team to victory. The more tanks needed to be used to apply the tactics, the better.
    • Itlichnik or Free nomination - non-standard replays that do not fit into any of the nominations or affect several nominations at once.

    In order to get into the FBR wot, it is not necessary to accumulate incredible numbers of damage or frags, it is enough that something unusual happens in battle.

    Competitions

    When will gold be awarded for the competition?

    KTTS! This may take from a few days to two weeks from the end of the competition.

    How to send a replay for OSR or FBR transmission NO COMMENTS?

    On the page of the replay you uploaded there is a button "CONTESTS/REPLAY MANAGEMENT". Click and you will see the “FBR NO COMMENTS” and “OSR” buttons if your replay is suitable for the competition. Replays older than two weeks and replays that were not completely recorded are not suitable.

    How to submit a replay to the VoTReplace competition?

    All replays uploaded to the site participate in competitions on the VoTReplace website. True, at any given moment we hold competitions only for a part of the tanks. But all replays with these tanks are included in the competition. You just need to upload the replay.

    Problems with replays

    No information about the fight

    If you leave before the end of the battle, the replay is not completely recorded. You can view it, but you cannot download information about the results of the battle from it. And it is also impossible to check whether the results of the battle have been falsified. Therefore, information is not downloaded from such replays and they cannot participate in competitions. We don’t write videos for them either!

    How to delete a replay?

    Go to the replay page and click on the "CONTESTS/REPLAY MANAGEMENT" button. Please note that you cannot delete a replay sent to OSR or FBR NO COMMENTS programs if the replay has already been reviewed by the moderator.

    The file is not loading

    We are very meticulous about what is uploaded to our site. Therefore, you can only upload replay files and only if they are recorded correctly. Unfortunately, in the game World of Tanks there is a very difficult to detect and rarely reproduced bug, when even a replay recorded to the end turns out to be recorded incorrectly. This can be understood if the file size is significantly larger than 1 megabyte. Such replays cannot be uploaded to us either.

    How do you choose replays for video recording?

    We have launched an automatic video selection process. First of all, we select replays of the winners of WoTReplays competitions. And then we focus on the following criteria:

    • Replays uploaded by players of top clans. In this case, the battle is victorious, the “Master” class badge is received, 4 or more opponents are destroyed. Such fights are often useful and interesting to watch. The list of clans may change and be supplemented depending on the situation in the game;
    • Replays from players who have played more than 5000 battles and have statistics wn8=2500 or more. Additional conditions: the battle is victorious and the “Master” class badge is received;
    • Replays from players who have played more than 10,000 battles and have wn8 statistics from 2400 to 2500. Additional conditions: the battle is victorious, the “Master” class badge is received, 4 or more opponents are destroyed;
    • Replays from players who have played more than 10,000 battles and have wn8 statistics from 2300 to 2400. Additional conditions: the battle is victorious, the “Master” class badge is received, 6 or more opponents are destroyed;
    • Replays from players who have played more than 15,000 battles and have wn8 statistics from 2200 to 2300. Additional conditions: the battle is victorious, the “Master” class badge is received, 7 or more opponents are destroyed;
    • Replays that were included in the selection on the site, but selectively;
    • Replays sent by our participants

    A replay is a recording of a fight. The game saves the “scenario” of the battle in a technical form: which tanks went where, how and what they fired, and so on. When watching a replay, the game reads this “script” and knows what to show and when. The entire image is created by game resources, and the replay file itself takes no more than 3 megabytes.

    The replay can serve as proof. Explaining in words takes a long time. Taking screenshots on time or always recording fights on video is difficult. And with a replay you have ironclad proof of anything. Watch your battles, share the best battles and help make the game better: if you notice an error or violation in the chat, send us a replay.

    Where to find replays

    To view a replay of the battle you just played, click on the button in the form of a film strip in the lower right corner of the screen with the results of the battle.

    To go to all available recordings, open the Game Menu - Profile and select “Replays”.

    There are three tabs on this screen:

    • “Latest” - all your replays are displayed here in chronological order. The game saves from 1 to 100 replays. Having reached the upper limit, it will gradually delete old entries. To avoid losing an important replay, click on the star and it will go to the “Favorites” tab.
    • “Favorites” - these replays do not count towards the storage limit and will not be deleted without your knowledge until the next version of the game is released.
    • “Downloaded” - replays that you received from other players will be shown here. In order for the replay to appear in “Downloaded”, you must first open and view the downloaded file.

    How to watch replays

    To watch the fight, click on the icon on the replay card. Control your viewing just like in a regular video player. You can:

    • pause the replay;
    • rewind the replay forward by selecting any position on the timeline strip (there is no rewind);
    • disable the combat interface;
    • go to settings or exit viewing mode.

    Problems viewing replays via Discord on iOS

    If you can't open a replay received in Discord on iOS, go to the application settings, click on "Web Browser" and select the browser you are using.

    How to view a fight recording from a computer

    The replay can only be viewed if you have the World of Tanks Blitz client installed on your computer.

    1. Run the resulting file by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button.
    2. The replay will automatically open and the recording of the battle will begin to play.

    How to enable replay recording in the game

    By default, replay recording is disabled. You can enable it in the game settings (section “Other” > “Record replays”).

    How to run a downloaded replay

    If you downloaded another player's replay or transferred your replay to another device, just open the file - the operating system will launch the game and replay automatically, even if the device is not connected to the Internet.

    How to delete a replay

    Click on the replay card in any area except the play and add to favorites buttons. A delete button will appear at the bottom of the screen.

    Please note that the game does not “see” exported and downloaded replays and does not affect them in any way. If you downloaded or saved your replays to the file system and need to free up memory, delete these files yourself.

    When updating, reinstalling or deleting the game, replays will be deleted. If you want to save your favorite replays, export them to the device memory.

    Settings and restrictions

    In the game settings on the “Other” tab, you can set a replay limit. The game can save replays from 1 to 100 of the last battles played. The higher the limit, the more memory space the game will take up. Not enough space? Leave a recording of at least one battle: believe me, there will definitely be a battle that you will want to watch again!

    What else do you need to know about replays?

    Test mode

    The first version of the replays is a test version. Recording and playback of battles may be unstable. On Android devices, there may also be difficulties when sending and saving replays to the file system. On weak devices, where the game takes a long time to load into battle, replays may be recorded with errors.

    Compatibility

    A replay is not a video recording, but a technical file with a “scenario” of the battle. This file can be viewed on any device that has World of Tanks Blitz. However, the game versions must match. If a fight is recorded in version 4.10, it can only be viewed in version 4.10. Perhaps in the future there will be a replay converter for the current version of the game.

    In the future, replays will gradually acquire new features and improvements. The beginning has already been made - the recording of battles is working, all that remains is to provide spectacular content to the replays. And then it’s up to you - fight beautifully, save your battles, watch them and share them with friends. To battle!
